Why We Built Meal Clickit
Every meal prep container on the market has the same problem: when it is time to eat, you either microwave everything together (goodbye, crisp salad) or carry two separate containers (hello, extra dishes).
We thought that was a terrible tradeoff. So we designed a container with a patent-pending removable entree section that snaps out, goes in the microwave, and clicks back in. Hot protein. Cold greens. One container. Zero compromise.
Seven Years in the Making
Meal Clickit was not designed overnight. The journey started in 2017 with a simple frustration: reheating meal-prepped lunches at work and watching perfectly good salads turn to mush. The first sketches were napkin drawings. Then came 3D-printed prototypes, CAD modeling, engineering revisions, and material testing.
By 2022, the design was refined enough to file a utility patent with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The patent application covers the removable entree section mechanism — the snap-in, snap-out feature that no other container on the market offers.
In 2024, we moved from prototyping to production tooling: custom steel injection molds built specifically for the Meal Clickit geometry. Every dimension, snap tolerance, and wall thickness was engineered for durability and a satisfying click.

Our Standards
Every Meal Clickit container is made from food-grade polypropylene (PP #5), the same material used in yogurt cups and medical containers. It contains zero BPA, zero phthalates, and zero lead. The material is rated for temperatures from -4°F to 250°F, making it safe for freezer storage, microwave reheating, and top-rack dishwasher cleaning.
We chose PP #5 over cheaper alternatives because it does not warp, stain, or absorb odors over hundreds of use cycles. The snap mechanism was tested through 1,000+ click cycles during prototyping to ensure long-term durability.
